Boy becomes youngest Viagra addict after watching porn on his smartphone

Doctor warns that schoolboys see drug as 'a bit of fun'

A TEENAGER who became addicted to Viagra at the age of 13 has said the drug has ruined his childhood.

The boy, now 15, said he turned to the impotency drug after friends told him he would be “bad in bed” when he lost his virginity with a new girlfriend.

He told the Sunday Mirror he soon became addicted, taking up to six pills a night at teenage sex parties.

He only admitted to his problem when he found out he could not get aroused without Viagra, after stealing hundreds of pounds from his parents to fund the addiction.

He told the Mirror: “I feel I have no childhood now. It is ruined.

“Most people think Viagra’s for middle-aged men, but you can easily get it in schools now.

“Parents and kids really need to know what’s going on. I wish I had never tried it.”

His parents, of Lancashire, were unaware of his behaviour believing he was at friends’ houses playing computer games.

The boy, who began watching porn on his smartphone at the age of 12, is now undergoing therapy with doctors warning his case is not uncommon.

Steve Pope, who is treating the child, told the Mirror: “Schoolboys think it’s just a bit of harmless fun.

“But the initial buzz from the chemical combined with the feeling of invincibility makes it hugely psychologically addictive.”

The boy has claimed that a third of boys his age have tried the drug.

He said he “wanted to be like” men in pornography clips so took the pill, without telling his girlfriend.

He said that when he told her he had used it she welcomed it and asked if he could get more.

Friends quoted a price of £4.50 per pill.

He told The Mirror: He said: “I couldn’t afford it – my pocket money barely paid for a pill a week, so I started stealing money from mum’s purse.

“I felt horrible, but in my mind I had no choice – not taking Viagra wasn’t an option

“I was disgusted with myself but I didn’t know how to control it and I was terrified my parents would find out.”

Since revealing his addiction to his parents last November the boy has been diagnosed with compulsive sexual behaviour and is in bi-weekly psychotherapy sessions.

Viagra is available in many high street chemists and most major supermarkets.

The drug was originally developed for people with angina, but patients found it boosted their sex lives.

The drug, which has a success rate of 60 to 80 per cent, does not directly give a man an erection but works by boosting the natural mechanism that leads to an erection.
